Night Rider Seminar by Urban Bike Survival Labs (UBSL.ca)
To ride is an instinct. To survive is a necessity. Don’t get stuck inside when the sun goes down, get on your bikes and ride! See how simple it is to build your own quality LED light and tips for survival while riding at night.
UBSL (Urban Bike Survival Labs) is a small collective of engineers with a passion for bikes. Together with the Community Bicycle Network and the Toronto Cyclists Union, they will be putting on a seminar in May to teach you how to make your own LEDs.
They have invented the first Integrated Electrical System (IES) for urban bikes. Lights are no longer aftermarket afterthoughts. They are embedded directly into the bike.
Learn how to make your own high-powered LED light! Learn how to embed them in your bike.
Led technology has evolved rapidly in recent years. Most lights on the market are still poorly made and easily stolen. UBSL engineers will teach you how to make your own LED assembly that costs less and works better than the store bought blinkies.
It is not as hard as you think. Some wires, a few LED diodes, a circuit board. Put them together and you are a shining beacon of urban cycling safety.
Price: $30. This will get you the workshop AND your own handmade LED light!
Register by phoning or emailing Community Bicycle Network, and secure your spot by paying in advance (we need two days' notice in order to purchase enough supplies for everyone).
