Photographic Exhibition by Martin Helmut Reis graces the walls of the CBN
In 2003, the Road World Cycling Championships came to Hamilton. It was perhaps the largest race of its kind ever held in Canada. Martin's work takes an historic approach with 12 images created using vintage equipment to reflect the nostalgia of the history of bicycle racing which Hamilton now shares.
But that's only half the story: for a week, the city opened its streets to a different use of public space and traffic was replaced by the footsteps of thousands of people (re)discovering the beauty of its streets and avenues. Cyclists showed what a delightful city Hamilton could be without our most beloved sacred cow 'the automobile'. Prints are for sale with proceeds going to the CBN.
